  Linguistic imperialism refers to "the transfer of a dominant language to some people" where this language has a superior dominance over others and is then imposed in different cultural, social, educational, technological and economic contexts. Many minority languages feel displaced. Linguistic imperialism could be seen as the military power of the modern as it not only imposes its language but also many of its cultural customs.
